This year’s yearbook theme is Emoji’s and I was asked what emoji was most like me. The answer is a smiling Mickey Mouse. I am an avid Disney fan and for many reasons. Beyond the parks and the characters, it is the magic of Disney that captures me.
Many of his quotes have to do with dreaming. “If you can dream it, you can do it,” and “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them,” just to name a few. Disney spent a good deal of his life struggling to make his dreams come true…from his early days of living in poverty to losing all his money in trying to start something really great. The magic of Walt Disney is that he believed that spending a lifetime working to do what you love would mean you never are really working…you are having the time of your life. My hope for you is that you find the magic of Walt Disney (or anyone else that inspires you) so that everything you do in your life is working to create a world where the work you do is not work…it’s having the time of your life!
As your teachers and administrators, our greatest hope for you is to find opportunities that lead you toward your greatest passions so that each day is an adventure that never feels like a day of work.
Congratulations to our “graduating” 5th grade students. We wish you the best in Middle School and beyond. To our returning students, we look forward to another year with you to create memories and magic to carry you for a lifetime.
