Christine Barr was approved at the Monday May 16, 2022, Central 301 Board of Education Meeting as the next principal of Prairie View Grade School. Mrs. Barr has served as the Assistant Principal of Prairie View since 2019.

Christine has over 18 years of experience in elementary education. Prior to becoming an administrator, she was a School Librarian in Geneva 304 School District. Mrs. Barr also was a librarian and taught fourth grade in Iowa and Chicago. In addition to her experience in education, she served at the state level as an Executive Board member on the Illinois Library Association Board of Directors and the Reaching Across Illinois Library System Board of Directors.

Barr received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State University, her MA in School Library Media Studies from University of Northern Iowa, her MA in Educational Leadership Principal Endorsement from Aurora University, and she is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Aurora University. She lives in Geneva with her husband Jon and has four grown children.

As the Assistant Principal of Prairie View, Mrs. Barr has had the opportunity to build strong relationships with staff, students and the community. She is excited to serve as the next Principal of Prairie View Grade School and honored to continue working with our dedicated and talented staff, our amazing students, and supportive and vibrant community.
